Ants are animals too. From the start of life, there were two distinct characterization, plants and animals. Humans are animals too but let’s put it aside for another topic. As I was saying from the Kingdom Animalia, Family Formicidae, Order Hymenoptera, Class Insecta. Since ants are animals. They are to be protected by the animal welfare. 
But you said, humans are animals too, so that means we have double protection, like one for the humans and one as animals. 
No! The people of the world consider themselves as a classification separated from animals and plants.
